Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to the things people actually ask before getting in touch. If your question is not here, ask it - I would rather answer it than have you guess.
What do you charge?
Every price is published on the services page, ex-VAT. They range from £45 an hour for decluttering work up to £600 a day for advisory work, with fixed prices for defined jobs (an office setup from £450, a backup setup from £180) and monthly pricing for ongoing support from £65 per user. Nothing is hidden behind a quote form.
Do you come to me, or is it all remote?
Both, depending on what it is. Anything physical (cabling, hardware, a new office) needs someone in the room. Most software, account, backup and configuration work does not, and doing it remotely is usually faster and cheaper for you because there is no travel time to pay for. I will tell you which one your job needs.
Which areas do you cover?
On site: Brighton and Hove, then Lewes, Newhaven, Shoreham-by-Sea, Worthing, Eastbourne and along to Hastings. Remote: anywhere in the UK.
Are you really just one person?
Yes. Enhanceify Ltd is a limited company (number 16107718) with me as its director, and I do the work myself. The upside is that the person who scoped your job is the person who does it, and nothing gets lost in a handover. The downside is that I am not a 24/7 rota, so if you need guaranteed overnight cover I am not your supplier and I will tell you that up front.
Do you sell hardware, or take commission from suppliers?
No, to both. I am vendor-neutral and I earn nothing from what you buy, so my advice is not quietly steered by which supplier pays the best margin. If the right answer is to keep what you already have, that is the answer you get.
What if you cannot fix it?
Then I tell you, and I tell you what I would do instead - which is sometimes a different supplier, sometimes replacing the thing, and occasionally that the problem is not worth the money it would take to solve. I would rather say that than bill you for hours against a lost cause.
Do you work with home users, or only businesses?
Both. Some of the work is a small business with a handful of staff sharing systems, and some of it is one person with a slow laptop, patchy Wi-Fi and fifteen years of photos nobody has ever backed up. The services page lets you filter by which of those you are.
What is the IoT side about?
Internet of Things (IoT) and cellular connectivity is my specialism from before this company. I spent eleven years at Eseye Ltd working on machine-to-machine communications, finishing as a Software Engineer and Product Owner, and I led the migration of 1.2 million connected devices between carrier platforms with under thirty minutes of downtime each.
If you run a fleet of connected devices and your Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) costs are creeping, or your devices drop off the network and nobody can say why, that is the work I do. It is remote, it is UK-wide and beyond, and it is priced by the day or on a monthly retainer.
How do we start?
Email me and describe the problem however it makes sense to you. You do not need to know what the service is called or diagnose it first. I will come back with what I think is happening, what it would take, and what it would cost, before anything starts.
Need a hand with this?
Have a look at what I offer and what it costs, or get in touch and describe the problem in your own words.
